Washington Post Coverage of AAC
Continuing Heidi's search for AAC articles in the Mainstream media, she examined how The Washington Post covers "speech devices." As you can see from the search results, the articles addressing AAC are limited to addressing ALS and Medicare reimbursement for devices.
It is awesome this story was tracked in 2014 when it was first authorized, but the reauthorization was contested and there was no media coverage of it. She's curious why many of the other common diagnoses which use AAC aren't featured at all.
We're ready for articles to focus on more than just the cost of the devices. Where are the constructive articles sharing stories of other users? Or stories about why these devices change someone's life?
